In this tour, we will visit "the south of the south" or the end of the world. During this trip, some of the enigmatic places in Argentina become our stops where you will be able to see tons of species, visit penguins or colonies of sea lions. All of this is located across the Patagonian steppe, lagoons, and forests of our country.

 

ITINERARY

1st day: Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

Pick up from the airport - Tierra del Fuego National Park - dinner and night in Ushuaia.

 

Specialties: Kelp Goose - Green-backed firecrown - Picaflor Rubi - Austral Parakeet - Magellanic Tapaculo - White-throated Treerunner - Thorn-tailed Rayadito - Fire-eyed Diucon - Patagonian Tyrant - Black-chinned Siskin - Austral Blackbird - Striated Caracara - Rufous-legged Owl - Magellanic Woodpecker.


2nd day: Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

Breakfast at the lodge - boat trip along Beagle Channel - visit the Sea Lions and Penguin Islands - birding in between -  return to the lodge - night in Ushuaia.

 

Specialties: Blackish Cinclodes - King Penguin - Gentoo Penguin - Magellanic Penguin. 

 

3rd day: Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

Breakfast at the lodge - transfer to "Paso Garibaldi" - 6-hour walk - lunch on the road - dinner and night in Ushuaia.

 

Specialties: White-bellied seedsnipe - White-bridled Finch - Dark-faced Ground Tyrant - Patagonian Yellow-Finch - Lesser Horned Owl.

 

4th day: Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego) to Rio Grande (Tierra del Fuego)

Birding at a dump yard located just 500 m from the mouth of the Olivia River - transfer to Rio Grande - check in at the lodge - night in Rio Grande.

 

Specialties: Striated Caracara, Magellanic Woodpecker.

 

5th and 6th day: Rio Grande (Tierra del Fuego)

Breakfast at the lodge - full day birding - dinner and night in Rio Grande.

 

Specialties: Magellanic Plover - Yellow Bridled-Finch - Ruddy-headed Goose - Rufous-chested Dotterel - Two-banded Plover.

 

7th day: From Rio Grande (Tierra del Fuego) to Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

Breakfast at the lodge - transfer to Ushuaia - full birding birding day - return to the lodge - night in Ushuaia.

 

Specialties: White-bellied Seedsnipe, Ochre-naped Ground-Tyrant, Dark-faced Ground-Tyrant, Yellow-bridled Finch. 

 

8th day: End of the trip

Breakfast at the lodge - end of the trip.

WHAT TO WEAR

Birds are very sensitive to colors like: white, red, yellow, pink and bright colors. For that reason, we suggest to bring khaki colors like green and brown. Remember that we will be at "the end of the world" very close to the south pole, so you should bring warm clothes!

If you are a birdwatcher you should bring your binoculars. Your tour guide will have a scope for long distances. If you are a bird photographer, bring your camera.
