Ibera Wetlands

Information

DESCRIPTION

Located in the Argentinean province of Corrientes, a combination of boats, vehicles and walkways allow for intimate access of many species that would be difficult to encounter in other parts of the region.

A long list of birds includes the Strange-tailed Tyrant, Black-capped Donacobius and the majestic Jabiru Stork.

In addition to the birds, part of the huge area became a National Park in 2017, allowing for the reintroduction and continued conservation of many of South Ameirca’s most emblematic species of mammals, including the Jaguar, Giant Anteater and Maned Wolf.

For a protected area so rich in biodiversity, and yet so unspoiled by mass tourism, Íbera is an essential birding

destination.
