1st day: from Calafate (Santa Cruz) to Torres del Paine (Chile)

Arrival to Calafate Airport and transfer to Torres del Paine, Chile - lunch at the lodge - night in Torres del Paine. 

 

Specialties: Puma - Austral Rail -  Magellanic Woodpecker - Austral Blackbird - Fire-eyed Diucon - Thorn-tailed Rayadito - Dark-bellied Cinclodes - Austral Parakeet - Chucao Tapaculo.

 

2nd day: Torres del Paine (Chile)

Breakfast at the lodge - full day photographing pumas - nigh in Torres del Paine.

 

Specialties: Puma - Chilean Hawk - Green-backed Firecrown - Magellanic Tapaculo - Des Murs’s Wiretail - White-throated Treeruner.

 

3rd day: Torres del Paine (Chile)

Breakfast at the lodge - full day photographing pumas - nigh in Torres del Paine.

 

Specialties: Puma -  Spectacled Duck - Striped Woodpecker - Rufous-tailed Plancutter.

 

4th day: From Torres del Paine (Chile) to Calafate (Santa Cruz) 

Breakfast at the lodge - transfer to Calafate - lunch at the lodge - night in Calafate. 

 

Specialties: Chocolate-vented Tyrant -  Austral Canastero - Patagonian Yellow-Finch - Plain-mantled Tit-Spinetail - Thorn-tailed Rayadito - Patagonian Sierra Finch - Rufous-tailed Hawk.

 

5th, 6th and 7th day: Calafate (Santa Cruz)

Breakfast at the lodge - full day birding in search of Hooded Grebe - dinner and night in Calafate.

8th day: End of the trip

Breakfast at the lodge - end of the trip.

WHAT TO WEAR

 

Birds are very sensitive to colors like: white, red, yellow, pink and bright colors. For that reason, we suggest to bring khaki colors like green and brown. Remember that we will be in South Argentina where the climate is cold and windy, so you should bring warm clothes!

If you are a birdwatcher you should bring your binoculars. Your tour guide will have a scope for long distances. If you are a bird photographer, bring your camera.
